Introduction

Hey all well i thought i would do a quick introduction.

My name is John im 20 years old and i live in Canberra, Australia and currently am a university student doing Software Engineering.. although im not finding it the most exciting thing out thats for sure!.

I started playing poker back in late 2007 after getting interested in it by watching a few WSOP's etc on ESPN and other channels.

The last few months have been really slow poker wise for me.. they have been profitable but i havnt been playing many hours.. probably only averaging 5 hours a week sometimes if that.. ive really been stuck down by school lately and am eager just to put in some solid hours which i will be able to do in about 3 weeks time when all tests finish and i will have atleast a good solid month to spend doing nothing but poker and anything else i want to do so during this time im really looking to play alot and build up my bankroll so i can also move up in limits!.

thats all for now Smile

My First Sharkscope Star And Upcoming Goal

Greetings,

Just wanted to post a blog here about an upcoming goal i have in the works which i will start on the 24th of June (all college tests out of the way).

The goal is to play 2,500 SNGs from the 24th of June to the 24th of July in which i will be most likely starting in the $3.25 cent 6 Max games on Pokerstars unless i go on a sick run over the next few days. My bankroll is big enough to have more than 100 buy ins at the $6.50 level but i really want to be even more rolled before i step up that way i wont be inclined to tilt or step back down so easily if i go on a bad run of cards.

In regards to money made during this period i don't have a goal set for that. As PimpinDonks says you cant control how much you earn... you just have to play and everything should pan out alright. If i just played the $3.25s for the full 2,500 i would be expected to make $1950 without RB which i would be happy with but this figure could quite obviously be higher or lower in regards to when i step up in limits or just how the cards fall over the period.

In conclusion if your a micro stakes player from the 24th of June onwards you may want to tune into my blog as i will be updating it on a day by day basis with all information such as how many games i play each day, profit / loss, and many other related stuff.

oh and i also today got into the sharkscope leaderboards for the $2 - $5 6 max total profit after a nice small 50 games session which went fairly well (graph below)... I must say i like the look of that star hovering around my name... even if it is such low stakes... i guarantee im going to have many more to come in the higher stakes in future YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST! lol.

Day 1 of the challenge

so today is the 24th well yesterday was as i write this at 1am and i have started my challenge of playing 2,500 sngs in a 31 day period.

gonna keep this short as im mega tired and need sleep!.. played 67 games today.. less than i would have liked but there was some good watching on TV that had to be done Smile session went a little under average i guess.... usual poker variance suckouts here and there etc.. nothing too out of the ordinary would have been nice if a few more hands held up or i didnt run a ton of mid pocket pairs into over pairs but hey thats poker.

This challenge should be an interesting one i need to play atleast 100 sngs a day and that will leave me with 6 days off, im currently playing the $3.25s 6max games 10 at a time.. anyone who has played the 6 max games should realize that these are a lot harder to multitable than 9 man or 45 man games for obvious reasons due to this i most definitely will be adding a few 45 / 9 mans into the mix to speed up some time and keep the mind fresh - i particularly like the 45 mans as the late game edge you have over the field is just incredible so ill definitely be looking to jumping into them along the way.

even thoe im playing alot ill still be watching alot of videos and reading articles to keep improving that way aswell.. im a member at sitngogrinders.com and pokervt.com and i highly recommend SNGG to anyone that doesn't have it already at just $45 for 3 months it is peanuts and pays for itself with one instructor.. (azntracker) have already learnt a few nice things that have really helped my game.

on a final note ill be looking to move up to the $6 level fairly quickly as my bankroll can handle it quite easily even at the current moment and i have no two questions on my skill level to beat those games.
