DAILY GRIND OF THE ONLINE POKER PLAYER 2012 PART-1

Well here we go again and it's the first month of the year of 2012. I am happy to say that i am now once again employed; After being out of work for almost two years. I work as a Cdl operator at Exxon Mobile Oil refinery in Chalmette,LA. Its about 1 mile or two outside of New Orleans,LA ad i am truly grateful to be working once again.

So i had all good intentions yesterday before starting a session that last 18hrs. You see i didn't play any mtt's yesterday and i had work the next; So i wanted to take full advantage of the situation. Then of course it happend, "I WENT ON A 20+ BUY-IN" downswing. If it could go wrong it did, as well as making me doubt myself and my skill set!

So i woke up yesterday morning and was on my way to work;Not knowing that i had misread the work assignments and was off till Tuesday. Well anyway i returned home still upset about the previous day of playing poker. I fired up the laptop and did a little surfing on P5's and Poker pro labs. After looking at my results from my last session, i decided to open Holdem Manager and review a few sng's i played the day before.

Ok so i had a killer session yesterday! It's really crazy how a little work away from the table can actually improve your game instantly. Playing poker is really relaxing for me, as well as gratifying as well. You really only get out what you are willing to put in. Yesterday made me think about all the time i played on poker stars. I used to play a shitload of the $5 sng's and i could never beat them.

Well here i am fresh off my 12 hour shift at work. I have decided that in the past when i play poker for over 12 hours i really play like shit. With that being said i limit my session to a 3 buy-in rule when playing after work. So if i drop three in a row or if i am in negative profit; I will just call it a night. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to control winning and losing sessions.
